Most phone manufacturers install a range of applications and user interface tweaks on top of the stock Android operating system in order to give their device a more unique feel. Often these additions cannot be uninstalled, but they take up storage space on the device and require memory and processing power to run. Package Disabler Pro enables the removal of these packages (and any other installed packaged) by assuming the role of device owner at a system level, overriding the phone manufacturers block on uninstalling.
Installation is not a user-friendly experience
Phone manufacturers often don’t make it easy to circumvent their software, which makes the installation process of Package Disabler Pro difficult. It requires the use of a computer, and any Google accounts will need to be removed before the installation can proceed. The accounts can be re-added afterwards, but it is no small inconvenience, and the app becomes the main user of the device, which can get in the way of some features like phone tracking. It is also worth noting that Package Disabler Pro does not work on Samsung devices.
